We prepared the polymer electrolyte membranes consisting of a polystyrene graft chain onto a polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) film using by the radiation-induced polymerization and subsequent sulfonation. The grafting efficiency was enhanced using 1-propanol as a monomer solution. The degree of grafting was controlled in the range of 10-69%. The membrane with a ion exchange capacity of 2.2 meq/g showed high proton conductivity (0.18 S/cm).
